What's the Feed-In Tariff (FIT) scheme?

Feed-In Tariffs (FITs) are a Government-run scheme to encourage people to generate their own low carbon energy. As well as the money you'll save by generating your own electricity, instead of paying us, we'll pay you!

Just to let you know...

The FIT scheme closed to new installations on 31st March 2019 and unfortunately you will not be eligible for the payments where the new installation was:

  • installed after 31st March 2019.

  • installed before 1st April 2019 but you did not apply before 1st April 2020.

You can still apply for Feed-in Tariff payments through UW where:

  • You are registered for Feed-in Tariffs with another supplier and would like to add this to your other UW services.

  • You have recently taken ownership of a property with generating equipment already registered for Feed-in Tariffs with UW.

To sign up for our Feed-In Tariff (FIT), you'll need to download and complete and send our application form. You can find this along with more information leaflets on our

Please contact us if you have any other queries about the FIT scheme.
